Audi unveils updated TT line-up

The German brand has dropped diesel engines from the sports car’s line-up as well as tweaking the overall design.

Audi has revealed the updated version of the third generation TT, which comes with a refreshed look and a reduced engine selection. All of the power units now on offer are only petrol, with the standard TT fitted with a 2.0-litre engine producing either a 194bhp or 241bhp – badged as 40 and 45 – and the TT S coming with a 301bhp version.

The TT S is fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with quattro all-wheel drive, while the 241bhp TT can be fitted with that setup or a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive. The 194bhp model is only available with front-wheel drive, but can be fitted with either transmission.

The overall design has been tweaked slightly for a rejuvenated look, with Audi fitting a three-dimensional grille, larger side inlets and offering new alloy and colour options.

Alterations have also been made to the S line and Black Edition models, as both trims now come with a full-length splitter mounted to the front, a remodelled diffuser and added aero elements. The Black Edition can also come with a fixed rear spoiler instead of the speed-activated option.
